CAPTURED: Barbara Lusby for stealing a debit card

Mar 2, 2020
Media Contact : Brian Bruchey, PIO

***UPDATE: Thursday, March 5th***
We are happy to report that Barbara Lusby turned herself in to deputies today. She was booked into the Polk County Jail at 4:12 pm, and soon after bonded out. We have added her new mugshot to the post. Thank you all for your assistance.

ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS:
On February 1, 2020, a woman, since identified as Barbara Lusby, was in a Marathon convenience store (111 Marcum Road, Lakeland) when she noticed another customer dropped a debit card.

Rather than being a good citizen, Lusby rushed over and placed her foot over the card and when the victim walked away, Lusby picked up the card.

Lusby then made a purchase with the victim’s debit card…and she did her crime while accompanied by a young child.

We posted the video of the crime on the PCSO Facebook page, and received several tips regarding Lusby's identity.

We have a warrant for her arrest, for Criminal Use of Personal ID, Keeping/Using a Stolen Card, Fraudulent Use of Bank Card, and Petit Theft.

Barbara Lusby is 41-years-old, stands 5’3”, weighs 150, and her last known address is on Bay Ave. SE in Lakeland.
